THE JOURNAL CLUB: APRIL EDITION

THERE ARE SO MANY WAYS TO BE BRAVE IN THIS WORLD AND IN THIS LIFE

APRIL THEME: TO BE BRAVE

“Be brave. Without bravery, you will never know the world as richly as it longs to be known. Without bravery, your life will remain small – far smaller than you probably wanted your life to be” - Elizabeth Gilbert.

Exploring the theme of bravery inside the safety of your journal is a great way to get more comfortable with ideas and actions that you want to take but don’t feel brave enough to just yet. Brave action doesn’t have to mean big action, it can be just one small step outside of your current comfort zone.

WRITING PROMPT:

This month I invite you to ponder what it means to be brave, to consider where you can show up more bravely in your life, and to open your mind to the possibility of what your life might look like if you did.

ART-MAKING PROMPT:

Get brave and use an art material or technique that you haven’t tried before.

MONTHLY TOP TIP:

Let the pen and the paint lead you. If you’re feeling stuck and the fear of the blank page is looming, start with a scribble to break the block. Follow where it leads.

REMEMBER:

Think of the prompt as an opportunity to exercise your creativity, as a jumping-off point to interpret however you like, with zero pressure to create perfect art, there is no right or wrong way to respond!

We are looking forward to seeing what you create, be sure to send us a photo of your work or tag us and use #CHHJournalClub on Instagram, and we’ll share our favourites right here inside The Journal Club.
